Good Course but poor service

Played on 14 September 2015. Course is in good shape and spectacular scenery. Do not understand why they have to have so many trees in the middle of the fairway and in front of the greens. The greens were in good shape but lightning fast downhill. Be wary of the GPS in the carts. I found them to be 10 to 20 yards off (sometimes short, sometimes long) from my laser range finder. The pro shop personnel were not very friendly or helpful. You had to ask about everything; carts, driving range (short irons only), first tee. They provided no information at all about the course. There was a yardage book but you had to ask about that also. Some of the holes are pretty unique so info about them would have been nice. Overall I played pretty good. Couple of bad holes to start off with (see driving range with short irons only) but I had a couple of birdies and several pars. For a casino resort in New Mexico they could take a few lessons about customer service from Sandia, Twin Warriors or Isleta Casino golf courses. It would make a good golf course a more enjoyable experience.

Great Experience

Upon entering the pro shop, we were welcomed by great weather and a beautiful groomed course! The staff was very friendly and efficient with checking us in! The Marshall helped with slow play and the course was absolutely beautiful. I definitely hope to come back real soon!

Great Course! Great Deal!

We booked online with Golfnow and was amazed to find a tee time with a rate at $19/person. This was and extremely pleasant course with amazing greens and extreme elevation changes. Many different challenges with doglegs and fairway trees.

The course was in immaculate shape beyond the tee boxes (many were crowned). At $85/round, this course would be nice. At the $19/round I found on golf now, this course was amazing.

The only thing that frustrated me was the short iron only range. Would have liked to have been able to warm up the driver before going out here.

WOW

The view when starting off the first tee is breathtaking. Each hole was well manicured. Each hole had an element of difficulty no matter where the flag is located. Blind shots going uphill and long "look out below" downhill holes make this course fun to play. Watching people go down the zip line on Hole 10 makes you want to try it. A hail storm kept us from finishing but we all plan to return.

Great course; unfriendly pro staff

Booked through GolfNow for $85 rate. Initially charged $129.00 plus tax. Informed of my booking through GolfNow and honored rate but Pro Shop manager unfriendly and overheard stating they were going to get rid of GolfNow rate. Employee assisting us was friendly not not the pro shop manager sunce had to override the charge.

Swing for the fences

It's a long course with alpine-lined fairways and extremely fast greens. Play below the hole, you'll thank me later. Enjoy the scenery and have fun!

IotMG

Found an incredible rate on golfnow.com and it made the trip that much better. About a 10-12 at my local course and I played the blue tees. Should have moved up to the white tees. I regularly hit drives of 280+ and was still a long way from the green on the par 5s. Second time playing and I shot a 95. Nice greens and fairways.

Very Good Mountain Golf

We caught the course, and the weather in excellent shape. Although it was somewhat cloudy, and a little windy, the temperature was a mild 70 degrees,(good for late September) and the golf was good. Recent rains left the course in very good condition. The rough was a little high, and you needed to keep the ball in the fairway in order to score. The greens were fast and true. Whit tees are recommended, unless you are a low handicapper, and hit a long ball. GPS on the golf cart helps a lot on shots to the green.

Majestic Course in the Mountains

Inn of the Mountain Gods takes golf to a new level. There is nothing more beautiful than playing golf in a spectacularly pristine environment. I can't say there is anything easy about this course. Fast greens and tough tee shots. Course was immaculate.

Mountain Paradise

Hole for hole might be the most beautiful and challenging golf course in the southwestern United States. Course is in great shape. Hole # 8 is one of the best par three's holes you will play anywhere.

Great course, challenging and beautiful scenery

I rated the overall experience as GOOD, only because they let TOO many 5-somes play. We had 2 - 5somes directly ahead of us and they were SLOW. It took 2.5 hours to play the front nine, then when we finally made the turn, we had to wait again. We got to 12 after additional 1 hour and then the rains hit and we were pulled off the course for a 1 hour delay. At that point I had been there for 4 hours already and didn't want to continue. On the way in we noticed at several more 5-somes.

Very nice course, very rude staff.

This course is very pretty and the condition of the course was very good. I would have given the condition of the course an "excellent" rating if it were not for the poor conditions of the tee boxes. This course is very expensive to play at. Overly expensive in my opinion. The course is wonderful, but not $135.00 weekend rate wonderful. I mean, I've played at ocean side golf courses in Hawai'i for about the same cost - courses that put IOTMG to shame. For that price, you're much better off going to Rainmakers (private club/must have reciprocal from your own private club) which is a MUCH more exciting and amazing golf course.

The staff at Inn of the Mountain Gods is terrible. Very rude and unaccommodating. When you're paying $135.00 dollars to play at below excellent course you'd expect a little more from the staff. Maybe even just a smile?

Play this course if you have the disposable money and the time, otherwise try to get booked over at Rainmaker's. A MUCH better value.

Also, the food at this resort was gross and overpriced.
